Total Miles Traveled: 818

818 miles has landed us along Interstate-80 in Liberty Township of Montour
County, Pennsylvania, a small town settled in 1771. With a population of about 1,785 people, Liberty Township has a total area of 27.5 square miles. It is home to the Gottlieb Brown and Keefer Covered Bridges, both of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and cross the Chillisquaque Creek. The Gottlieb Brown Covered Bridge is an 86-foot wooden Burr Truss bridge built in 1881. Keefer Covered Bridge No. 7 is a 78-foot long, Burr Truss bridge built in 1853. It has a square opening, which is rare for covered bridges in Pennsylvania.
