Lunch & Learn: Hydration

We hear how important it is to stay hydrated, especially during the hot summer months, but how do we know if we are drinking enough fluids and how do we cope with the urinary frequency that can result?

Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry is hosting a Lunch & Learn on Tuesday, June 10^th to answer these questions and more! This one-hour presentation focuses on hydration for older adults. It will explore the critical role water plays in overall health, particularly in supporting key body functions such as digestion, circulation, temperature regulation, and cognitive performance—including memory. Attendees will learn how proper hydration can help maintain physical and mental well-being and the health risks of dehydration as they age.

The session will also offer creative and practical strategies to increase daily fluid intake. The presentation will address common concerns such as urinary frequency, providing techniques and lifestyle tips to manage this issue without compromising hydration. The guest presenter will be Occupational Therapist, Jenny Williams of Innovative OT Solutions.

Are you new to the Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry community? We’ve been providing programs, services and volunteer opportunities for older adults since 2007! Perhaps you are from our newest partner church, St. James the Greater. Perhaps you’ve read about us in your church bulletin or neighborhood directory, but want to know more. Perhaps a neighbor said you should get in touch, but you’ve been reluctant to reach out. No matter the reason if you are wanting to learn more about who we are and what we do come to our Meet & Greet on Wednesday, June 18^th at noon. Meet LASM staff, volunteers and participants. Receive an overview of programs and services. Gather information on how to get more involved. Designated time for Q & A.
